On an early May afternoon during F period, you can find Jack Dooley (‘25) sitting beside friends, conversing, and enjoying his free period. Dooley is now only three weeks away from graduating but can still be found grinding, doing all the work necessary for academic success.
Dooley arrived to school this morning at 8:25 a.m. and began preparing for his first period Spanish class, taught by Upper School Spanish teacher Sra. Elsie Bustamante. Dooley enjoyed reviewing for his upcoming quiz alongside varsity lacrosse teammate, friend, and Match contributor Zach Jarvis (‘26). One of Dooley’s main priorities this spring has been to work exceptionally hard to prepare himself for the fall, when he will attend and play lacrosse at Hampden-Sydney College.
After Spanish, Dooley excitingly made his way to his second period class, Literature of Conflict with Upper School English teacher and Match advisor Vlastik Svab, where he watched a portion of the film The Zone of Interest, as part of the class’s study of the graphic novel Maus and the Holocaust. Dooley then ventured to the Academic Commons for a break to catch up with his buddy and lacrosse teammate John Seevers (’25). Dooley purchased a bag of Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos but was rather underwhelmed due to their lack of seasoning.
After catching up with his buddies and fulfilling his hunger, Dooley began making his way to his third class of the day, calculus with Upper School math teacher Kristine Chiodo. He enjoyed reviewing for his quiz on intervals and looks forward to expressing his knowledge.
The highlight of Dooley’s day came during F period. His excitement came from the big break he had due to having free period and then first lunch right afterwards. He enjoyed relaxing and listening to The Lumineers while studying for his two upcoming quizzes.
Dooley is looking forward to finishing out the year strong and having a great time, while living life to the fullest with his friends. Dooley would also like to give a special shoutout to another lacrosse teammate, Holt Hopper (‘25), whom he believes “is a great guy.”
